Refurbished showroom at Dobbies, Woodbridge

We're delighted to announce our showroom at Dobbies, Woodbridge has now been fully refurbished and is already being enjoyed by our customers new and existing!

Waveney Windows has had a presence at the garden centre for over 20 years. Previously known as Wyevale, Dobbies has provided a base for Waveney Windows to enjoy meeting local people as well as visitors to the local area and introduce them to our amazing range of windows, doors and conservatories.

As our product range evolves we like to make sure our showsites are reflective of this.

The new showroom showcases new french doors, flush windows at the front and casement windows at the sides and rear, all in Agate Grey (RAL 7038). In addition we have included the latest style of UPVC door in French Grey as well as a composite door (2 panel 2 square) in Anthracite Grey.

The new roof incorporates a solid Ultraframe 380 on one half, and a Livin Room roof on the other half which features a pelmet and glass roof in Sunshade Blue. This has made a really nice feature as it provides lots of natural light but has energy efficient glass ensuring the showroom stays cool in summer and warm in winter.

The Ultraframe 380 is an all year round conservatory roof and is a firm favourite with our customers. We adapted this for showroom purposes to demonstrate the versatility of the product and showcase both options.

Mark Woods has been Sales Manager at our Woodbridge showroom for the last 9 years. Over this time he has taken a great pride in servicing customers across Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Ipswich and the surrounding area.

He guides people through the process, from listening to what each customer is looking for to matching these with the right products to meet their requirements. He provides a range of options with a clear breakdown in costs enabling customers to choose exactly what they feel is right for them.

Mark is delighted to welcome new and existing customers to the impressive new showroom. Within the first few days of opening Mark has already had one new customer purchase a Livin Room roof as part of a complete conservatory refurbishment project with him - a direct result of seeing the new showroom first-hand!

We consider this to be the success we had hoped for as it is a clear indicator the quality of the products speak for themselves.

The Impact of Homebase, Lowestoft Closing

Waveney Windows has had a presence in Homebase Lowestoft spanning the last 30 years and we were so very sorry to hear it would be closing at the end of 2024. Whilst we look for alternative showrooms we want to reassure our customers that we will very much be continuing to serve the Lowestoft area and beyond. Gary Slaymaker, our Design Consultant covering Lowestoft and the surrounding area, will continue to service this area, visiting customers in the comfort of their own home and guiding them through the process and pricing just as he's done for many years.

Gary has lived in the local area for over 40 years and his in-depth knowledge of this has proven invaluable in giving customers insight and guidance as to what will look right alongside honest advice and guidance on the process and pricing. Whether you are looking for windows, doors, or conservatories, Gary will continue to be on hand to help bring your vision to life.

We hate companies which hard sell and so are grateful to have Gary in place with his professionalism and sincerity which our customers appreciate so much. He explains options and pricing in simple, clear terms so our customers have peace of mind before, during and once the project has been delivered.

Halesworth Golf Day 2024

Waveney Windows is delighted to be one of the key sponsors for the annual Halesworth Golf Day since it was first held in 2002 in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance. We would like to say how proud we are of Gary Slaymaker, our Lowestoft manager, who has been the key organiser of this event since it began. Gary has worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this event each year which has now raised in total over a quarter of a million pounds. A phenomenal achievement which Waveney Windows has been proud to support throughout the years.

Gary and his team recently celebrated handing over a cheque for £22,333 for funds raised for this year's 2024 Golf Day. Shortly after the Air Ambulance landed to be presented with the donation they were called away to a local emergency which served as a stark reminder of the importance of this charity to our local community.

Gary says of this event "I would like to thank all the sponsors and everyone who takes part in supporting this event including all the golf clubs across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex & Cambridgeshire who donated 4-Ball vouchers for auction. It is a fantastic cause & we are so grateful for all the Air Ambulance does."

A big thank you to Gary and his team, and an even bigger thank you to the East Anglian Air Ambulance for all it does.

Mental Health in Glazing

Companies in our trade have been under immense pressure over the last 2 years. Taking care of our customers without putting pressure on our employees has been paramount to Waveney Windows, but we have been aware there is a stark truth about mental health in glazing...

From a recent survey, studies have shown that 89% of respondents have had an increased workload since the COVID-19 pandemic, and 76% are experiencing burnout from their workload! What is more concerning is that despite of the widespread problem, half of the respondents have never confided in friends or work colleagues.

These results can feel even more shocking as under 50% of those surveyed said they worked for a supportive employer. This is now being reflected in the ability to find new skilled workers to come and join the industry!

We hope the results provide valuable insights that will help the industry collaborate to put support mechanisms in place for those who need help!

We're proud to have started the conversation to help draw attention to the mental health challenges in the glass and glazing sector, and now is the time for action! We would also like to thank all our customers for their patience and understanding as we try to continue to offer exemplary levels of customer service alongside taking care of all our staff.
